Long awaited update...Finally!!!

I really don't know where the time goes, needless to say I am way behind with my blog. I can partly blame my addiction to Facebook and keeping up with it. Everything here in Texas is going good, just enjoying getting back into the soccer season for MC and Noah starts baseball practice this week. The kids are both doing great in school and love going...for now! I am enjoying this time in their lives. It seems like my life revolves around there schedules, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I am working some, and that is going good. Doug's work is keeping him busy, he has been studying for the insurance exam, needless to say he spends a lot of time in his office. All in all, we are very blessed to be living this life, and we have so much to be thankful for, especially in these times. We are all healthy and happy and really have no reasons for complaint.

Christmas Card Photo Shoot

We had our annual chaotic photo shoot in hopes for that perfect Christmas card picture and it really was not too bad. Although, I will confess this was our second try, the first try was a complete disaster, with fit throwing from everyone. Why does it have to be so hard to take pictures of your precious children? I promise every year that I am going to pay someone to do this the next year, but of course here we are again. I think I got some good shots and a plus this year was my new camera, it is so much easier when your camera does the work for you. These pictures are taken right in front of our house at the pond, this is our view from the front of our house. I hope you all enjoy your card this year, and when you get it think of all the sweat and tears and laughter that went into the one perfect picture. Merry Christmas!!!

Kit Kat and Nestle Crunch for bribery:$1.00
Outfits for picture shoot:$50.00
Nikon D60:$500.00 and then some
The memory of MC and Noah holding hands, and the picture to prove it: PRICELESS!!!

Noah's Soccer Experience

Look close because this is probably the last soccer trophy Noah will ever get. He has decided, unlike Mary Carson, that soccer is not his sport. Although he did end his career on a high note with two goals. He is trying basketball next, so we will see how that goes. It is amazing how different our two children are, not only in sports, but in there personalities. I love watching each of them grow and learn new things in there own way every day, and am glad God didn't make them exactly the same, because then our lives would be so boring and predictable. Basketball here we come!!!

Camping Degray State Park October 2008

These are a few pics from our camping trip to the Ozarks. We had a blast learning how to make a campfire, making smores, hiking, fishing, and just enjoying nature. We even found humor in our treks to the "bath house". The kids loved being outdoors all day and riding bikes without worrying about cars. It was so nice to get away and not worry about our routine schedule. We went with the Paynes from our Sunday School class who are very experienced campers and they taught us all about dutch oven cooking and how to survive in a yurt-this is what we slept in. We hope to make this a new family tradition, the kids loved it and Doug and I must confess it was really a lot of fun. A big thanks to the Paynes for introducing us to the camping life- can't wait to go back.

It's Fall Y'all

School is in full swing as well as soccer and homework. We are staying busy and can't believe we have started our second school year in TX. We had a great summer and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and cant wait until our next visit at Thanksgiving. We are breaking tradition this year and skipping out on the annual Balloon Races in Natchez to go camping with some friends. We are all excited about our camping trip- I will definitely post some pics or make a slide show- now that I know how to.
God is continually blessing us with new friends and new memories to add to our scrapbook of life, what an adventure we are on. Never could I have imagined us in TX, but it has been so much fun meeting new people and experiencing new things. I pray that God continues to bless us and our family in this journey. I pray that each of you abide by Gods word and his direction in your life and know that God is always in control. Although, I still think of MS as home I always know that God is with me no matter what state I live in and for that I am truly grateful. What an amazing God we serve!!!
Matt. 28:20 "obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Summer News

We are having a great summer, although it is going by too fast. Noah turned 6 at the end of May which is hard to believe and he finished his first year of school. We have been to MS once and to Arkansas to visit Jeff and his wife one weekend. The kids are really enjoying there summer just being kids, swimming and playing, when we are not on the road. We still have 2 more trips planned to MS one to Natchez/Brandon and going to Tupelo in Aug. Doug got me a new camera for our anniversary (12 yrs) so hopefully I will have lots of pics to share. I will probably post again after all of our summer trips.

GOD IS GOOD!!!

Wow, how time flies. We are finding it hard to believe it has almost been a year since we left MS. We are all settling in after 8 months going on 9 of living in TX. The kids are doing great and love it here. Doug's job is going well, he is staying busy and traveling some. I have actually found a part time job. I start next week at a surgery center about 5 miles from the house. I will be working on Fridays at first and add to that as I want, depending on what works out with the kids and Dougs schedule. I am so blessed to find a job that doesnt keep me away from my family too much. We are also becoming more active in our church and the kids love going. We are in a BFG( Bible Fellowship Group, aka small group) and have met a lot of great people who love the Lord and want to serve him. If it weren't for us finding a church and having our friends Peycia, David and Gracie (they moved from Castlewoods at the same time we did to the same neighborhood here- GOD IS GOOD!!) we would probably be lost. God has a plan for us and we are trying to live by his command in following his plan for our lives, but it sometimes seems like an uphill battle with our old friends and family 400+ miles away. Please pray for us in this journey that God will give us the strength we need to live by his word and know that he has sent us here for a purpose. I truly feel God working in our family bringing us closer to him, and if we can continue to be faithful in this walk, our reward will be far greater than any sacrifices we feel we have made as well as our family and dear friends. Thank you all for being so supportive in this journey we are taking. We can't wait to see you all again soon.

A TEXAS SNOWFALL

Noah experienced his first snowfall. Mary Carson has seen snow, but was too young to remember, accept for pictures. Both kids had a ball playing in it for the early morning. School was delayed 2 hours, so they were able to make some fun memories. All of the snow is melted and the kids have had a full day of it. I did get a haircut today and do I mean haircut, I chopped off atleast 8 inches and went darker with my color, as soon as Ican get someone to take a pic I will post it.

Thursday, February 7, 2008

I still haven't learned much about this, but I am going to add some more pics. Mary Carson had to do a Solar System project, she worked hard on it and was so proud of herself. I think she did a pretty good job with some help from me. Noah got a haircut, of course I am not crazy about it, but it is hair and it will grow back. There is just something about Noah and long hair that go together. Noah had two cavities filled today, he was not real happy afterward with the numb mouth, he promises he will brush better after today. Not much else going on, soccer practice has started, Mary Car has a scrimage this Sat., Noah should start practice soon. I will post some soccer pics as soon as I get some.
